Marceau was one of the most influential performers of the last century. Among those who followed his lead were Jerry Lewis, Dick Van Dyke, Cantinflas, and scores of others. His understanding of the human condition and his concern for others will be sorely missed.

I saw Marceau in person a couple of times. You didn't miss the words. He was a great artist.
